Celebrating Hinamatsuri 🎎
Wishing you a season of blooming happiness🌸
Today, March 3rd, is a special day in Japan.
We display special dolls and celebrate the health and happiness of girls and the arrival of spring🌸
Even here in Europe, I celebrate this tradition to align my body and mind with the changing seasons🌿
Here are the symbolic meanings behind this beautiful tradition through the lens of Yakuzen (Traditional Medicinal Cuisine):

🍣 Chirashizushi (Sushi)
A colorful bowl representing the vitality of spring. The vinegar in the rice helps smooth the flow of “Qi(気_energy)“, which can often feel stagnant during seasonal transitions. The variety of toppings—shrimp, eggs, and greens—provides a perfect balance of nutrients to revitalize the body.
🍶 Shirozake (White Sake)
This sweet, cloudy sake is more than just a drink; it’s a ritual to wash away the lingering cold of winter. White symbolizes purity, and the sake is believed to ward off “pathogenic factors.” It gently warms the digestive system, helping to awaken our metabolism.
🌿 Hishimochi (Diamond-shaped Rice Cakes)
The three colors are a poem of nature:
Pink: Peach blossoms to ward off evil.
White: The last of the winter snow.
Green: New growth under the snow.
Each layer encourages us to embrace the resilience of nature and find harmony within ourselves.

As we transition into the season of growth, may your “Qi(気_energy) flow smoothly and your spring be filled with radiant health. 🌸🍃
