In this workshop, we move beyond the Familiar Sushi Roll to explore “Open-style Temaki Sushi”—a creative, elegant, and social way to enjoy sushi that mirrors the beloved Danish open-sandwich culture.

Guided by the principles of Japanese Wellness (Yakuzen), you will learn how to use seasonal ingredients to nourish your body and spirit as we welcome the radiant energy of the new season.

🍣 The Art of “Open-Style” Temaki Sushi - No Rolling Required
Forget the bamboo mat! Master the elegant “Open-style” sushi—a creative approach where you don’t need to roll. Instead, we focus on the beauty of the ingredients, letting them take center stage on a crisp sheet of nori.

  • The Secret to Perfectly Seasoned Sushi Rice: Discover a simple yet reliable method for cooking perfect Japanese rice on your stovetop and transforming it into authentic, seasoned sushi rice. You’ll be surprised at how effortlessly you can achieve the ideal balance of flavor and texture at home—creating the true foundation of delicious sushi.
  • The Seasonal Palette: We will use a variety of the season’s finest vegetables and fresh seafood to create sushi that looks like a jewelry box. You will learn the art of “balance” in both flavor and presentation.
  • Essential Prep Skills: Learn how to slice and prepare various toppings like a professional, ensuring each bite is as beautiful as it is flavorful.

Master the art of authentic Teriyaki Chicken—crafted not from a bottle, but from the elegant harmony of high-quality soy sauce, mirin, and sake. We will pair succulent chicken with vibrant Danish summer vegetables, creating a dish that is both comforting and sophisticated. Through the lens of Yakuzen, you will also learn how these specific ingredients work together to boost your daily energy (Qi_気) and support your well-being.

Experience one of the most elegant and soothing dishes in Japanese cuisine—the savory egg custard.

  • A Silken Texture: Learn the technique to achieve a texture as smooth as silk. We will finish the dish with a delicate, clear glaze that enhances both its beauty and flavor.
  • The Power of Umami: Discover how to craft a clear “Dashi” from scratch—the golden foundation of Japanese flavor that nourishes the body from within. This dish is a beautiful example of how Japanese cooking embraces “subtle luxury” through simple, high-quality ingredients.

Cancellations made after 11:00 AM on the day before the workshop will be charged the full fee (100%).

    We kindly ask that children are not brought to the class.
